All I want For Christmas is....

... well my favourite time of year has arrived. I LOVE christmas!! Im soooo excited for the snow to come and the christmas parties to begin! I have turned back into a child and have spotted some amazing christmas jumpers i need to buy (maybe before my christmas shopping begins). These festive jumpers i found in Topshop bring me back to the days when it was uncool to wear a knitted print jumper especially on christmas day however ii cant resist and am falling for the geeky uncool items.

These fun jumpers are £50 from Topshop and would be perfect for a quirky snow day outfit teamed up with of the items below for example a bowler hat or girly ear muffs from Topshop also a pair of waxed jodhpur riding trouser from Zara and some ankle riding boots at Topshop. This would be a perfect outfit on a cold winters day! i would defiantly through on my fur coat too to top the look off!

Hope you enjoy christmas jumpers as much as i do Soph x.x

While spending my afternoons blogging i have came across some real fashionistas! One blog i have LOVED reading is Diamond Solitaire from Aberdeen. I love looking at local blogs to get inspiration and this was one that stood out. Her interesting fashion style is inspiring. The blog is based around her style and what she wears on a day to day basis. Her style is quirky and anybody can relate to it. Her style can have a hard grunge edge but with some soft flowing pieces for example maxi skirts and flowing dresses teamed up with leather jackets and chunky jewellery.

The simplicity sometimes of a funky t-shirt leggings and jewellery teamed up with some killer heals can give edge to any look. These are some pics i pinched from her blog to show you her style. Her blog gives you good ideas on where to find different ideas on style.

This is the link to her blog if you want to have nosey through her other looks. Because i know i cant resist a peak at what other people are wearing.
I love Diamond Solitaires Blog because of how relaxed her approach to fashion is. This girl is unique and im excited to share her blog with you Hope you enjoy it as much as i do :-)

These cool designs would even help a plain dress for a night out to stand out i love how versatile they are! can be dressed down for a grunge style or dressed up for a glam look! there are some more vintage styles up for grab and the use of the beads and pearls make these body chains look like dainty and innocent peices of jewellery... i LOVE them and i hope you do to!

Being a Diva...

... I want to say a BIG thanks to Hannah Duncan who allowed us to use her fab design for our uni fashion shoot and for coming along to support us and give us ideas. What a fab day we had getting the chance to organise a real life fashion shoot for a magazine were creating through uni as part of our coursework. although most of us were full of the cold and shivering due to aberdeens finest autumn weather we still had fun. once our fab photographers are finished with our pics i will pop them up for everyone to see if im not tooo embarrassed since i was the one to model for them... cringe! We spent the morning posing at the ruins on the edge of torry near the harbour and off cliffs at the edge of aberdeen. it was a interesting day but i dont think i will become a famous model anytime soon.. not with my posing skills anyway haha! :-(

However here are some of the designs hannah kindly lent us for the day to use for our corruption of innocence theme which suggests how fashion is messing with young girls minds...

Hannah used her talent to create these designs for her 4th year finals at Grays School of Art and below is the interesting story of what the inspiration behind her collection is...

"Flower Sellers” is a collection which encompasses the delicate idea of childhood. It explores the conception of the romantic child portrayed by historical artists during Victorian Britain. The designer questions childhood as a period of innocence and also the idea of youth becoming trapped within a world beyond its control and understanding. Sharp silhouettes capture the essence of Victorian attire while the delicate use of embellishment such as pearls, beads, ruffles and lace findings highlight innocence and vulnerability.  The use of vintage and found fabrics shout sustainability, which bring a modern interpretation and new life to unwanted fabrics, whether it be a baroque set of curtains turned into a blazer,  frayed organza creating blurry edge softness in capes and shorts or an unloved lace table cloth that has acquired new meaning as a draped jumper.  The collection evokes modern elegance where the most fashionable items have never been so close to home...

Trick or Treat Your Nails...

... I have noticed recently that your nails are now becoming as much of a fashion statement as your clothes! Nail art is about showing more of your personality or adding colour to a dull day at work! I recently have tried out some of the minx nails etc however it sounds silly but i still enjoy coming home and pampering myself by doing my nails, reading a magazine and catching up on my sky planner!

One of the nail trends i have started following is the colour blocking your nails! I have seen a few people have started either painting just one nail a different contrasting colour or doing the rainbow effect! However it is said that the finger you wear a ring on should be a diffrent colour to the rest of your hand to make more of a statement! It is no longer about matching your nails to your outfit! Its a simple thing that even my shakey jake hands can manage. Its a quirky nail trend that is still taking off but i just thought it was a fun idea to make your nails stand out buy mixing the colours up! It brings a bit of happiness to these dull autumn winter mornings!

While looking at nail art images i did come across some fun designs for your nails for halloween as it is only a week away! They look a fun idea to try out however i dnt think my clumsy hands will manage these but they made me smile! I think my nail art skills will maybe just have to stick to sparkle nail varnishes and the crackle nail varnish this Halloween but theres no harm in looking at some ideas :)

Glitz and Glamour...

... Well im sooooo excited to say i have bought a pair of glitter heels to glam up and get ready for the christmas nights out! I have seen alot of glitter shoes around the high street and in magazines and now i cant wait to be able to add a bit of girly glamour to my never ending black dresses! :)

I have seen alot of fab different styles of glitter shoes on the high street! These shoes are perfect for the christmas period and i love the feeling when you put them on and its like returning to my childhood of dressing up and pretending i could fit into my sparkly heels :)

These are some of the other sparkly shoes ive seen on the highstreet i especially love the black shoe boots from office and are £75. Theyre just something a bit different and i love a shoe boot on snowy nights to give a bit edge to a girly dress. Also the gold shoes i spotted in Miss selfridge for £40 and the silver multi shoes from ASOS £50. However im not gonna lie mines are just the cheapy ones, that im not ashamed to say are from Primark for £18. I do love a bargain!!

Can't wait to be wearing my new shoes on a girly night out! What girl can resist! :)

Out With The Old... In With The New...

Its that time of year again when the seasons are changing and you notcie the change from spring/summer to autumn/winter! Maybe its just me but dont you ever just go to your wardrobe and no matter what you pick to put on you feel fashionless and lack of inspiration....! I hate that uncool feeling when you just feel like everyone is moving on around you and you need a new idea to make you feel nice again!

The time for me to revamp my wardrobe is back and i came across this new look or style or whatever you want to call it! Fabric is back and i get to layer up! One thing i LOVE is the idea of clashing different textures, patterns and layers to create the 3D remix! This season i have seen stores and magazines messing about with weights in fabric and putting the heavy with the light! The key mixes i have seen being created are knits and silks, fur with metalics and leather and lace! However a play on all these different textures will work well together! Its fun just to be able to play with how different textures can create a flirty and fun, eye catching outfit!

Building an outfit with different textures will give one piece a lifetime of different looks and you can wear it more then once without the new feeling going because im the worst at getting the excited feeling of a new top or dress and losing it with JUST one wear! its sad! I have put this imatation leather skirt (£19.99 h&m), the sequin tee (Topshop £45) and the racoon faux fur gilet (Miss Selfridge £60), above, as an outfit to show how 3 opposite textures can work together.... Fabric is gonna be big!!! i love putting chunky heavy knits withe delicate laces or mixing or dainty silk blouses with harsh leather shorts! And my favourite textured shoes has to go to topshop!! i would probably ruin them within a day in the rainy weather but whats not to love about the alfie scalloped lace up boot (£52). The hair texture and scalloped edging gives this little black ankle boot some life.

This season sees velvet and faux fur hitting hard but there is texture for everyone to fall in love with suede, leather sequins, silk, lace or even animal print or a pattern to give off an illusion! Fabric is key this season and i love to wrap and layer up when i see that its that time of year again when all you want to be is warm!!
